Executive Function & Performance Coaching for Teen Boys
He’s smart, talented and capable, YET... constantly distracted, glued to his devices, falling behind in school, moody, unmotivated or withdrawn, and underperforming on the field, in the classroom or at home?As a parent, you've tried rewards, discipline, tutors and therapy... but nothing is getting through?
THE MIND MENTOR is a personalized coaching service designed to help teenage boys, ages 13-18, build the mental, academic, athletic, behavioral and emotional skills necessary to succeed in every aspect of their lives.
Through skill-based coaching in executive functioning, performance psychology, and real world mentorship, we help teens:
● Build focus and distress tolerance
● Develop self-control and discipline
● Manage stress, emotions and sleep
● Improve motivation and follow-through
● Strengthen confidence and identity
The Mind Mentor model blends executive function coaching with a family-systems perspective. We understand that focus, organization and emotional control doesn’t develop in isolation but within systems: family, school, friendships and digital life. That’s why coaching supports not only the individual, but also the structures and relationships around him.

Hi, I'm Pete.Growing up in Australia, I experienced firsthand how young men were shaped by the “Aussie battler” mentality... an unspoken code that values quiet suffering over emotional awareness and visibility. Conversations about hardship were rare, and when challenges did come up, I had no idea who to turn to or how to ask for help. And that was before cell phones!Today’s teens are facing immense pressures. High expectations around success and identity, constant distractions, and a fast-paced world that makes it hard for the most capable boys to stay motivated, follow through and manage stress effectively. The message is clear: young men are struggling and need our support.I founded The Mind Mentor because I wanted to bridge a gap between two things: therapy as it is traditionally offered and boys who want practical, skill-based support without the clinical jargon. I wanted to create a coaching model that blends executive functioning, performance psychology and real world mentoring in a language that they understand.Over the past 15 years, I’ve channeled my work across K–12 schools and counseling settings into a highly individualized, action-oriented method that takes into account every dimension of a teen’s life: academics, sports, relationships and family dynamics. This isn’t therapy or tutoring. It’s a strategic partnership built on trust for young men and their families who are ready to excel.
